The students will arrive in Solvang around 5th February and depart from Solvang around the 27th May.

The Homestay program offers you the opportunity to give your family a first-hand introduction to Danish culture by sharing your home and local community with a Danish student. Homestay is considered one of the safest ways to invite some-one new into your home and lifestyle.

The chance of a lifetime

North American colleges and universities are considered to be among the best in the world, and it is a priority for many Danish parents that their children get to experience the American culture and educational system first-hand. By becoming a homestay host you will give a Danish student - as well as your own family - a cultural experience of a lifetime!

Become a Homestay host

As a homestay host, you will be paid 600 US$ per month.
In return you are obliged to provide a separate bedroom for the students as well as meals at home. For lunch on school days the students may bring lunch from home or purchase a student meal at the school cafeteria. Hosts also need to provide transportation for the students to and from Santa Ynes Valley high-school.

It is also customary for the host family to show the students the local community, and culture and to include them in their everyday life.

The students have signed a contract whereby they pledge to follow your family rules and to respect and follow your instructions and house rules.
